Baymont By Wyndham Dubuque Hotel, Dubuque

My stay at the hotel was overall pleasant. The rooms, despite being a little cramped, were comfortable and quiet. However, I was disappointed to find that the treadmill was not working, and there was a musty smell that I had to mask with air fresheners.

The hotel room felt more like an 80's nursing home than the inviting space advertised on the website, but the overall cleanliness was good. The service was a mix of unannounced entries but helpful interactions, and the location was convenient with access to shops and dining options. However, the dining experience lacked options and responsiveness. The facilities were standard without any standout features.

The hotel had its ups and downs. While the rooms were clean and comfortable, they lacked a wheelchair accessible shower and had a musty smell that required air fresheners. It took some time for the room to warm up, but overall, it was cozy. The service was hit or miss with the staff spending time at the bar rather than at the front desk and not being particularly friendly. The location was convenient for us, being on the West edge of town on the way into Dubuque, although the smell of dead fish and a green-colored pool were off-putting. The dining experience was average, could have improved with a meat choice, like sausage, and fresh fruit. The facilities were decent, and the price was reasonable considering the value provided.
